Great Britain Head Coach Nicci Wardell says she is “overall happy” with her side’s performances in their three-game Under-16 Women’s series with Norway.

GB were beaten 4-0 by Norway in Widnes last night but Wardell says what the players learned from the week is more important than the performances.

“We made a poor start and were 3-0 down after 10 minutes, but we kept the next 50 minutes to 1-0,” said Wardell.

“We started a bit like a train leaving a station but once we regrouped we never looked back.

“I really feel the girls were unlucky not to get a goal in the third, they certainly deserved one.

“We stayed with a team in good parts whose peers are 10 places above us in IIHF rankings.

“There were some big lessons learned but overall we are happy with the week.”

GB made a change to their roster for Saturday’s game as Evelyn Brown was unable to play, so Keira Waddington from Chelmsford was added to the squad.
