Forward Ross Venus says his first-ever Great Britain goal is the biggest moment in his career.

The 21-year-old, playing in his sixth international game, scored GB’s third goal in their 8-0 victory over Lithuania in the World Championship (Division 1B) in Zagreb.

Britain’s victory moved them up to second in the Division 1B table, behind leaders Ukraine.

“I feel amazing,” said Venus. “This is the first game where I have really had regular ice time.

“To get a goal really is amazing, it is such a great feeling.”

There were eight different players on the scoresheet and Venus felt it was a complete display by GB.

“It was an amazing performance,” added Venus. “We were clinical all game long.

“We just took it to them and never gave them a sniff really.”

There are no games in the tournament tomorrow and GB return to action on Friday when they face Romania at 1pm (12noon UK time).
