Fife head coach, Scott Plews, said: “We were the first of the four teams to book our place at finals weekend.

“This weekend has certainly raised the stakes for me as coach, as well as the expectations of my players.

“One thing is for sure is the fact that no matter who we play, on our day, with the right attitude, we will beat anyone at the same age level.”

Billingham head coach, Ian Weedall, said: “At the start of the season we had no idea what to expect from any of our opponents, never mind making it to U20 Nationals in Dumfries.

“There will be some great talent on show at this event, with the two best teams from Scotland and England competing to be crowned the British U20s champions.

“Whatever happens, what a fantastic season.”
