Ice Hockey UK are proud to announce that the IIHF have chosen the UK to host the first professional three-on-three one-day tournament to test and evaluate the potential of this innovative format for the future.

Following the huge success of the three-on-three format at this year’s Youth Olympics in South Korea, the IIHF are now trialing the new format with professional players.

The one-day tournament will be held on Sunday 14th April 2024 at specialised three-on-three ice rink, The Ozone in Bracknell.

Ice Hockey UK General Secretary, Andy French, said: “The new three-on-three concept is proving to he hugely popular with the players, coaches and fans.

“We saw first-hand the excitement when GB played at the Youth Olympics earlier this year.”

The tournament will involve a round-robin group stage, semi-final and final with the winning team receiving prize money.

The IIHF welcome teams or players from the Elite League, NIHL and NIHL 1 to play in the tournament by submitting their interest in the link below.

The IIHF also welcomes coaches to apply to participate in the tournament.

Details on how to watch the tournament will be announced shortly.
