It was a special night for our seven young stars at the Youth Olympics in Switzerland.
Abby Rowbotham, Mack Stewart, Carter Hamill, Evan Nauth, Mirren Foy, Amy Robery and Jessie Taylor were all part of the Team GB procession at the opening ceremony.
For ice hockey, the Games kick off with a three-on-three cross-ice men’s and women’s tournament, followed by a six-team men’s and women’s traditional tournament beginning on 17th January.
The most unique aspect of the three-on-three tournaments is the team rosters, comprised of players from mixed countries. This has given young players from many more IIHF members the chance to take part in Olympic competition.
