Great Britain have confirmed their captaincy trio for this weekend’s Olympic Qualifying tournament in Nottingham.

Jonathan Phillips continues to wear the ‘C’ as captain, with regular assistant Mark Richardson alongside him.  GB’s second assistant captain for this weekend will be Robert Farmer, who picks up the ‘A’ from Robert Dowd who is absent through injury.

Coach Pete Russell confirmed the appointments after practice on Thursday morning and said: “Although there are a lot of leaders in the group, we had a spot to fill with Dowd’s injury.

“Robert Farmer has been a big part of the GB programme particularly over the past couple of years and deserves to step up into the core leadership group.

“With Jonathan Phillips and Mark Richardson they make a hugely experienced and respected group and we are looking forward to getting underway this evening.”

The tournament’s first game is at 3.30pm with Hungary v Estonia before Great Britain take on Romania at 7.30pm.

Tickets are still available from the Motorpoint Arena with options for individual game, day or weekend tickets.

For those unable to make it to Nottingham, all GB games are being shown live on FreeSports with commentary from Aaron Murphy and Paul Adey.
