Great Britain Under-16s were beaten 5-1 by a talented young Ogre side in their second game at the Riga Hockey Cup in Latvia.

Dominik Jaglar was given the start in goal for his first game of the tournament.

Marts Kumpins gave Ogre the lead but GB hit back just 46 seconds later with a well-worked goal.

Emil Oksanen’s neat play when he beat his man and cut inside from the left boards found Kyle Carruth to fire home at the backdoor.

Kumpkins got his second to give Ogre a 2-1 first-period lead before Bruno Osmanis made it three early in the second session.

Darels Uļjanskis and Linards Hugo Zemnickis then scored 13 seconds apart as Ogre led 5-1 at the second intermission.

The third period was scoreless and it means GB have won one and lost one on the opening day following the 1-0 victory over Gelezinis Vikas this morning.

GB return to action at 17:30 UK time this afternoon as they face Poland Under-16s.
