The winner of the prize medal design competition for the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Tampere and Helsinki has been announced.
The winning design for the medal is designed by Pauli Maronen, who incorporated a theme with Tampere’s new Deck Arena and a hockey player behind the medal.
The design competition for the prize medals of the 2022 IIHF World Championship was opened in January to the general public.
The competition created widespread interest and a total of about 70 medal proposals were received, with proposals coming from Finland, Estonia, Great Britain, New Zealand, Russia, Belarus, Canada, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Indonesia and Italy.
