Nottingham Panthers defenceman Steve Lee says he cannot wait to get going for Great Britain after he ended the domestic season on a high with playoff success.

The Panthers beat Coventry in Sunday’s Elite League playoff final at the National Ice Centre.

Great Britain begin their training camp at the Skydome on Wednesday in preparation for two international games this weekend against Poland.

GB and Poland meet at the National Ice Centre on Saturday (7:30pm) and extra tickets have just been released for sale following high demand.

They then meet again on Sunday at the Skydome in Coventry (5:15pm).

The games are part of both sides’ preparation for their respective World Championship tournaments later this month.

Lee said: “It was a great end to the season personally for me and for the Panthers, but now attention turns to GB.

“We have a strong squad once again and, of course, the aim is to go one better than last year’s World Championship in Netherlands.

“I am looking forward to a good training camp and the two games against Poland in between will be good preparation for us.

“Poland against GB has become a brilliant battle over the last few years and I am sure these will be no different.”
