Great Britain Women head coach Mike Clancy has confirmed that his leadership group here in Jaca will be the same as that used during the Olympic Qualifiers in Nottingham last October.

Saffron Allen returns as captain, with Beth Hill and Jodie Bloom as assistant captains.

Allen said: “The honour speaks for itself, I can’t think of anything better than to lead any GB team. But this team we have means an exciting week ahead and can build on Nottingham which was a great tournament and a true reflection on what we can do as a team.”

Hill added: “We can’t wait to get on the ice, we have a strong squad and ready to compete for the gold medal.”

Bloom commented: “I like the group on and off the ice, everyone gets on and that shows when we get on the ice how we can play together.”

GB head to the rink for the first time on Saturday for a practice session before their first game day on Sunday against Chinese Taipei (4pm, 3pm UK). Further games follow against hosts Spain, Mexico and top-seeded Latvia to round out the five-team group.

Games will be streamed via the tournament YouTube while the game against Spain will be on RTVE Play the national TV streaming service. Links will be posted on the team social media channels – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – as soon as they are confirmed by the hosts.
