Regional head coaches across the UK are being invited to the ‘Just Hockey’ Coaching Symposium.
This free course will take place on Sunday 16th July from 10am to 5pm at the AJKM Hockey Barn, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, DE7 4RB.
Organiser, Corey Neilson, said: “Firstly, I would like to thank the team at East Midlands Sports & Hockey Academy (EMSHA) who are based at AJKM Hockey Barn for organising and supporting this opportunity to hear from such a great group of guest speakers during our inaugural symposium.
“These headline names bring along a wealth of experience with them and all have diverse backgrounds in the UK and global game of ice hockey.
“We’ve all obtained our EIHA coaching levels and attended clinics and forums that do a great job of covering key factors involved in coaching such as child safety and managing parents, which are so important when dealing with our children.
“Hence, what we’ve decided to focus on here are the vital ice hockey details and topics that are applicable to both our more fresh-to-the-sport, as well as experienced coaches.
“These great people donate not only their time but their invaluable effort and are passionate about teaching our great sport to the kids.
“We just want to help in providing some additional tools and leadership to allow consistent and A-game coaching, so they can be the best coaches they can be.
“The secondary goal we’re trying to accomplish through thissSymposium is to create a network between our coaches, so they can share ideas which will hopefully lead into establishing a mentorship program in the future for their continued development.”
