#INSPIRETHENEXT

An ice hockey taster session took place today at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham as part of the IIHF’s #InspireTheNext campaign.

Women and girls were given the chance to take to the ice and be involved in the session no matter their experience of our fantastic sport.

Great Britain Captain Jodie Alderson-Smith, as well as coaches from the NIC, were on-hand to lead the session.

The IIHF #InspireTheNext initiative is showcasing the opportunities, strength, and global leadership of the women in the sport across the world.

After the on-ice activities, Jodie was joined by Laura-Jo Bowler (Great Britain and Nottingham Panthers Sports Therapist) and Sophie Rouse (Great Britain and Nottingham Panthers Social Media Manager) as they discussed their GB journey.

Throughout the day, GB social media published videos of players discussing how they came to play the sport and their advice to the next generation.

Ice Hockey UK would like thank Jodie, Laura-Jo and Sophie for their time, as well as the staff at the National Ice Centre for making the event such a success.
