Junior players from the Great Britain Women’s programme will once again take part in the IIHF’s Global Girls’ Game this year.

The Global Girls’ Game is a worldwide ice hockey event where women’s games take place across the world on one weekend.

It’s being held this year on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th March and with the various time zones across the world, it means a game takes place nearly every hour.

Each country’s game sees two teams go head to head – named Team Blue and Team White – and a tally is kept across the world to give a running scoreline.

This year’s event in the UK will be a mixture of players from the GB Under-16 and GB Under-18 women’s programmes.

The game will take place at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham on Sunday 6th March and the Team Blue and Team White rosters will be announced shortly.

The 2021 event was postponed because of the pandemic but in 2020, some of the best young prospects in the GB programme took part.

Team White came out of top with a 3-1 victory over Team Blue in Ice Sheffield.
