Great Britain Under-18 Women warmed up for this weekend’s international tournament in Dumfries with a 7-0 victory over a Dumfries & Whitley Select side.

Emily Harris scored a hat-trick, Grace Garbett netted twice while Kiana Tait and Alice Jones were also on target as GB won the game with period scores of 3-0, 3-0 and 1-0.

Emma Nicholls and Ameila McGinlay shared the netminding duties.

Head coach, Cheryl Smith, said: “This was a very useful game to get ourselves prepared for the weekend.

“The coaching staff saw a lot of positives and obviously there are still things we can work on.

“It was great to score some goals and get a shutout, but it was also important to see how the girls stuck to the game plan.

“We now go into the weekend tournament in good spirits and look forward to playing some quality opposition.”

GB will come up against Spain U18 Women on Friday, Iceland Women on Saturday and Poland U18 Women on Sunday.

Ticket prices for this weekend’s tournament are £3 for one game, £5 for one day or £10 for the weekend. Children under the age of 16 are admitted free.
