Great Britain will play international matches against Latvia and Hungary as part of their preparation for next year’s World Championship.

GB will face Latvia at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham on Saturday 22nd April (7pm), with the two sides meeting again in Coventry the following day, Sunday 23rd April (5:30pm).

Britain face Hungary in Milton Keynes on Tuesday 25th April (7:30pm) and they’ll go head-to-head at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham 24 hours later, Wednesday 26th April (7:30pm).

Latvia are an established top-flight nation and achieved their best World Championship finish of seventh place in 1997, 2004 and 2009.

GB playing Latvia will bring back memories of the seven-goal thriller in the World Championship in Finland earlier this year, with the Latvians winning 4-3 in Tampere.

Hungary won promotion to next year’s World Championship in Finland with a second-placed finish in Division I Group A in Ljubljana in April.

GB and Hungary have met twice competitively in recent years, most famously in Budapest in 2018 when Robert Farmer’s late goal secured promotion to the top flight.

But Hungary came out on top in 2020 with a 4-1 victory on the Olympic Qualifiers in Nottingham.
