It’s been a busy week for Great Britain on the ice this week with two training sessions a day, but it’s also been an exciting time off the ice too.

Hundreds of schoolchildren came to watch the practices on Tuesday and Thursday and afterwards were able to ask their own questions to the players.

On Tuesday, children from Old Dalby School, Sneinton Primary, St Joseph’s, St Peter’s Cross Keys and Tollerton Primary met with Lucas Brine, Cam Critchlow, Robert Dowd and Brett Perlini.

And then this morning, GB players Ben Lake, Evan Mosey, Mark Richardson and Ben O’Connor spoke with children from Nottingham Girls’ Academy, Wings School Notts and Sneinton C Of E Primary School.

Thank you to the National Ice Centre for organising these events.

GB have spent nearly two weeks training at the Motorpoint Arena as part of their preparations for the World Championship in Czechia.

Pete Russell’s side beat Poland twice last weekend as a 3-1 victory in Leeds on Friday was followed by a 2-1 success on Saturday in Nottingham after a penalty shootout.

GB depart for the next part of their training camp on Sunday as they travel to Slany in Czechia before moving on to Prague next Wednesday.
