TONIGHT: GB v LATVIA IN NOTTINGHAM (7PM) – BUY TICKETS HERE

Great Britain play Latvia this evening in an international game at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham (7pm).

The two sides go head-to-head twice in two days with game two taking place at the Skydome Arena in Coventry tomorrow.

Latvia arrive in the UK as part of their preparations for their 26th consecutive appearance at the top level of the World Championship.

GB will then play Hungary twice – in Milton Keynes on Tuesday and Nottingham on Wednesday –  ahead of the World Championship Division I Group A beginning next Saturday in Nottingham.

Britain will name their line-up ahead of face-off but Kieran Brown is not available because of injury.

Last meeting
Great Britain and Latvia shared a seven-goal thriller at last year’s World Championship in Finland, with the Latvians edging it 4-3 in a game full of drama.

Brett Perlini and a first GB goal for Cade Neilson put Pete Russell’s side 2-0 up, before Latvia closed the gap when Oskars Batna swept in a rebound.

Lewis Hook made it 3-1 from the right circle which brought about a netminder switch as Elvis Merzlikins was replaced by Arturs Silovs.

But Latvia reduced the arrears again – this time on the powerplay – through a Janis Jaks one-timer (34:34) and equalised through Rihards Bukarts top-shelf finish at the backdoor.

Latvia took the lead for the first time – also with the man advantage – when Andris Dzerins redirected the puck past Bowns for the game-winner at 53:11.
