Ice Hockey UK have made four equipment manager appointments across the Great Britain junior set-up.

Lee Panks will undertake the equipment manager role with Great Britain Under-16 Women.

Panks is currently senior skate technician for Ice Locker and has also worked with Sheffield Steelkings para ice hockey team.

Charles Humphreys has been named as equipment manager of Great Britain Under-18 Women.

Humphreys’ first role was with Manchester Phoenix and he has also worked with Deeside Dragons, before linking up with his current club, Widnes Wild.

Gary Mitchell has been appointed to the position of equipment manager for Great Britain Under-16 Men.

Mitchell works with Basingstoke Bison in the NIHL and was recommended to apply for the role by former GB player Ashley Tait.

James Stenton will take up the equipment manager role with Great Britain Under-18 Men.

Stenton, who is known throughout ice hockey as Peam, currently works with Scottish side Solway Sharks.

David Hand, chairman of the Great Britain Programme Board, said: “I’d like to welcome all four to the Great Britain set-up.

“We had a fantastic response to the advertised positions and the four successful applicants were very impressive in their interviews.

“The equipment manager role is often the unsung hero position of a hockey team, but always a very vital role.

“I know all four are excited to link-up with their respective teams when they can and, on behalf of Ice Hockey UK, I wish them good luck in their new roles.”

John Crawley, who doubled up as equipment manager for GB Women and GB U18 Women, remains with the senior side – and Craig Cooke remains with GB Men’s Under-20s after previously undertaking the dual role of U20s and U18s Men.

Ice Hockey UK would like to thank Kevin Davis who moves on from his role with GB Under-16s.
