Yesterday, a joint-statement was released concerning the government’s decision to delay the re-opening of ice rinks following an increase in transmission of covid-19.

The EIHA have outlined what this means for the Return to Play plan…

While we appreciate the need for safety to be the number one priority, the EIHA are extremely disappointed at the late notice of this decision and appreciate the impact that it has on rinks, teams and individuals that were looking forward to everyone getting back on the ice in the coming days.

Whilst we remain in Phase 1 of our Return to Play plan as a consequence of the decision, we are comfortable to extend the numbers of participants for group training outdoors in line with other sports to allow off-ice training activities to take place in groups of up to 30 in line with the outdoor training and coaching guidance.
