FROM THE EIHA: PHASE 2 OF RETURN TO PLAY COMMENCES 1ST AUGUST

The board of English Ice Hockey Association are delighted to announce that ice hockey under their control will move to Phase 2 of Return to Play with effect from Saturday 1st August 2020.

Phase 2 allows groups of up to 20 players to train – on or off ice – at once, although there are still restrictions on different groups mixing and 2m social distancing to be practiced.

Ice rinks in England can reopen from 1st August 1. However, moving to Phase 2 allows all clubs under the EIHA to expand their training regimes regardless of whether their rinks are open or not.

The board have also confirmed that 2019-20 insurance and registrations for players and coaches will be extended to cover training during the initial return to play period, so everyone can take advantage of the new guidelines from the day of inception.

Details of registrations for 2020-21 will be issued in due course.

The board will work within DCMS guidelines to move to Phase 3 as soon as it is safe to do so.
