The board of the English Ice Hockey Association has written to its affiliated clubs and teams to advise that the company Annual General Meeting will take place via an online platform on 12th December 2020.

In its communication to membership, the EIHA board has confirmed that the AGM will be used to discuss and vote upon the proposals for a new single governing body covering the UK.

Last month, Ice Hockey UK chairman Richard Grieveson said that one governing body for the sport in the UK is more important than ever.

The EIHA board said in their statement that they have “stated publicly numerous times that it is committed to delivering change in an open and transparent way having listened to feedback from members”.

The statement went on to say: “We are also mindful that the membership needs and wants change.

“A proper governance model is needed for ice hockey and the board believes that coming under a single new organisation is the best option for our current membership and for the future of the sport.”
