Following a noticeable increase in the reports of racist and homophobic abuse between players, the EIHA and SIHA have reviewed the in-house rules and have inserted more clarity around what they would like referees to do in these circumstances. This type of behaviour has no place in our sport and on-ice officials have a role to play to ensure we do everything possible to take it out of our sport.

Players should be playing the sport and not spending their time abusing each other with comments during play or at stoppages of play.
