The latest Great Britain Under-20s camp took place last week and Ice Hockey UK’s national development head coach Tony Hand says the coaching staff will continue to look at all U20 players available for selection.

The U20s will travel to Tallinn, Estonia for the World Championship Division II Group A tournament from 13th to 19th January 2019.

GB will once again come up against Korea, Estonia and Romania, while they will be joined by relegated Lithuania and promoted Spain.

The next under-20 camp takes place in early November and this will be the final trial ahead of the squad being selected for the tournament in Tallinn.

Hand said: “It was another successful camp and I know the coaches learnt a lot about the players. I was really impressed with the level of competition at the camp.

“It is important to stress we continue to look at all under-20 players available for the World Championship in Tallinn.”

The one-day camp took place at the Bauer Arena in Ice Sheffield last week, with on and off-ice sessions for the 30-strong attendees.

Team manager, Ian Turner, said: “We had a good selection of players at the camp and Slava (Koulikov) and the coaches added some potential players from the under-18 programme to evaluate them.

“It was good for the coaches to see how the youngsters are developing and how they perform with the older players.”
