Great Britain Under-20s will undergo their final training camp ahead of naming their squad for next month’s World Championship.

The GB youngsters have a two-day camp in Sheffield on Tuesday and Wednesday, with two sessions a day.

The training is taking place at the Bauer Arena at Ice Sheffield and will involve on and off-ice sessions.

Ice Hockey UK will be hosting this season’s Under-20 World Championship Division 2 Group A in Dumfries from 10th to 16th December 2017.

GB Under-20s will face Estonia, Japan, Netherlands and Romania, along with Korea who were promoted from Division 2 Group B this year.

Slava Koulikov, head coach of GB U20s, said: “This is a very important camp as it will be the final one before we leave for Dumfries.

“I have been impressed with all the camps we have had so far and there has been some real competition for places.

“We have a great set of young players in the programme and I believe the future is bright for GB ice hockey.

“Players still have the chance to get their way into the squad, so I am expecting it to be a competitive two-day camp.”
