Head coach Martin Grubb says he was impressed by a “very good” Great Britain Under-20s camp at Ice Sheffield yesterday.

Ahead of January’s IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament in Lithuania, the GB youngsters will have a series of camps in preparation.

The squad had two on-ice sessions and also a game-situation scrimmage.

Grubb said: “The coaching staff were very impressed and it is already clear that squad selection for Lithuania will be very tough.

“There was a great buzz about the day and you already feel that the lads are itching to be selected to the final roster.

“It was very good and coaches and players certainly took a lot from it. There was a lot of energy and that is credit to the players for their determination.”

GB U20s will face hosts Lithuania, Romania and Spain, along with relegated Japan and promoted Serbia.

The six-team tournament will run from 6th to 12th January 2020.
