The Organizing Committee for the World Championship have published further information about ticketing and refunds for the cancelled World Championship in Switzerland. The full details are below and an update is promised within the next 14 days…

Dear Customers,

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) announced on Saturday, March 21, 2020, that the 2020 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, which was to take place from May 8 to 24 in Zurich and Lausanne, will not be held due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Switzerland.

This new starting position is accompanied by many open questions, which must now be analysed and clarified in detail. We are striving to find a satisfactory solution for you, as our valued customers. However, in view of the special circumstances we ask for your understanding and a bit of patience.

Should the IIHF World Championship be definitely cancelled, it is our aim and ambition to refund the tickets in full. Whether the 2020 IIHF World Championship will be cancelled and rescheduled for 2021 will be decided by the IIHF at its next annual congress.

The date for this congress has not yet been fixed. Currently, clarifications with all parties involved are in full swing. Until a final decision has been made, all tickets and hospitality packages purchased will remain valid. We kindly ask you to keep your tickets for the time being and not to return them.

You will be informed of the latest developments and the next steps in no more than 14 days. The corresponding information can also be found at www.2020.iihfworlds.com.

If you have any questions, please contact us at ticketing@2020.iihfworlds.com.

Wishing you all the best and stay healthy!

Best regards
