Great Britain Under-18s have made a change to their roster at the IIHF U18 World Championship Division II Group A in Tallinn following an injury to netminder Alex Oldale.

Chelmsford netminder Luca Tessadri has been added to the team and will link up with the squad in time for tomorrow’s game against Romania.

Defenceman Liam Steele, who missed the training camp in Finland and opening match against Estonia following a positive covid test, joined the squad today and took part in practice.

Head Coach, Sean Easton, said: “It’s a real shame for Alex and we are gutted for him.

“He took a injury in one of our warm-up games in Finland. It seemed he had recovered but the injury flared up in training.

“It’s a superb opportunity for Luca and we are looking forward to him being part of the squad.

“It was great to see Liam Steele out there today at practice and he will certainly add experience to our blueline.

“We know we have a point to prove following Sunday’s defeat, but we had a great session on the ice today and I know the boys can come back strong.”

GB face Romania tomorrow at 10:30am UK time. You can watch the game on a webcast which can be purchased for €1.99 by clicking here.
