Cardiff Devils produced a stunning night for UK ice hockey with a superb 4-1 victory over Swiss side Lausanne in their second Champions Hockey League group game.

Cole Sanford put the Devils ahead on the powerplay in the first session and Brodie Reid made it 2-0 in period two, but Ken Jager closed the gap 22 seconds later.

Sanford scored his second of the night 35 seconds into the final period and British forward Sam Duggan netted from close range – after great work from Mark Richardson – to complete the victory.

Cardiff netminder Mac Carruth was solid all night, turning away 32 of the 33 shots he faced.
