Great Britain were beaten 8-0 by the world’s 10th seed Denmark in an international game at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham.

Both sides iced 23-man rosters again with Jordan Hedley, Ben O’Connor, Scott Conway and Ben Davies sitting out for GB.

Britain had the game’s first real chance as Sam Duggan saw his shot saved from the left wing.

Denmark took the lead when Morten Poulsen tipped in Morton Jensen’s shot at 7:00, before Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers took control on the powerplay to help the Danes to a three-goal first-period lead.

First he danced through the GB defence and hit the post before setting up Joachim Blichfeld for a one-timer at the backdoor (15:16) and then just over two minutes later, Ehlers fed the same man who advanced unnoticed into the right circle to fire past Ben Bowns (17:20).

Ehlers got his third assist when he found space on the left-hand side and his perfect pass was touched in by Christian Wejse on the doorstep (20:38).

GB had three successive powerplays in the second period with Brett Perlini going close twice and Robert Dowd hitting the right-hand post.

Blichfeld completed completed his hat-trick touching in at the backdoor (31:45) and 23 seconds later, Nicolai Meyer finished off a two-on-one break (32:08).

Patrick Bjorkstrand then fed Meyer at the backdoor for his second goal in just under four minutes (35:53).

Jackson Whistle replaced Bowns for the final period and Blichfield added a fourth with another assist to Ehlers (52:65).

GB play their final international game in the UK on Tuesday against Italy at the Skydome in Coventry, before heading to Finland.
