Great Britain Universities Men stunned Sweden with a 5-4 victory in their final game at the World University Games in Krasnoyarsk.

Matt Bradbury’s side were 4-2 up at the end of the first period thanks to goals from Joshua Cook, Scott Henderson, Liam Charnock and Andreas Siagris.

There were no goals in the second period but Sweden tied the game at 4-4 in the third period.

Cook scored his second goal of the game to win it at 53:48 to complete an amazing result for GB.

Coach Bradbury said: “What an amazing group we brought together to represent Team GBR. It has been an amazing journey.

“To beat Sweden 5-4 – these guys were an absolute credit. They dug deep, did a job and finished a proud 10th place.”
