The schedule has been unveiled for the IIHF World Championship in Switzerland, which runs from 8th to 24th May 2020.

GB are in Group A in Lausanne for their second successive year in the top flight, alongside Belarus, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Slovakia and Sweden.

Pete Russell’s side – as they did last season in Slovakia – will start against Germany, with the two sides going head to head on Saturday 9th May.

Slovakia are up next on Sunday 10th May before the first rest day is followed by a game against Denmark on Tuesday 12th May.

Czech Republic are GB’s opponents on Wednesday 13th May and another rest day follows, while Britain then face Canada on Friday 15th May.

GB’s final two group games are against Sweden on Sunday 17th May and Belarus on Monday 18th May.

Group B in Zurich will consist of Finland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Norway, Russia, hosts Switzerland and USA.

The top four teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages, starting with the quarter-finals.
