Great Britain head coach Pete Russell insists his side must remain professional as they take on bottom seeds Romania in the World Championship (Division 1B) in Zagreb this lunchtime.

GB sit second in the six-team group, behind leaders Ukraine, following two regulation-time wins and an overtime victory in their first three games.

Romania are without win so far in the tournament and the only team without a point.

“We must respect the opposition, despite the fact they have been struggling,” said Russell.

“I want to see a professional performance and we must not get carried away.

“Romania will be desperate for their first win the tournament and we cannot not disrespect them.

“But we have a team of professional players and I know that they will remain focused.

“They have worked hard every game since we have been at this tournament and I see no reason why they won’t do the same today.”

Forward Robert Dowd will return to the line-up after missing Wednesday’s game with Lithuania after being admitted to hospital.

GB against Romania faces-off at 1pm in Zagreb (12noon UK time).
