Ice Hockey UK and the GB Programme Board have appointed Aidan Quaglino as their new North American scout for Great Britain’s junior teams.

Quaglino is a talent scout based in North America but also works extensively in Europe for recruiting purposes.

In the past two seasons he has held the position of Director of European Scouting for the Utah Outliers of the USPHL and the East Coast, as well as European Scout for the Wichita Falls Warriors of the NAHL.

Tony Hand, National Development Head Coach, said: “Aidan will provide vital feedback to all men’s junior teams for potential Great Britain players. He is well respected in North America and his knowledge of the system across the Atlantic will be invaluable.

“Many youngsters from the UK are now playing abroad so it is vital we keep track of them and any potential GB players. This is a very important role in the development of the GB junior programme.”

Quaglino said: “I am extremely grateful to the board for appointing me to become the North American scout for the GB junior squads. I look forward to tracking the development of all of our players playing abroad over the course of this season and assisting in the national team selection process.

“With so many of our GB players playing abroad, I see this as a tremendous resource for both our coaching staff and players to stay connected throughout the playing season leading up to worlds at both levels.

“I want to thank Tony Hand and Gary Brine for their shared vision in this regard and I see this helping both squads to push for promotion in their respective tournaments this season.”
