Great Britain Under-16s coach Steven Lynch says there were “plenty of positives” from the first camp of the 2017-18 season which was held in Sheffield.

The under-16 camp rounded off a three-day camp at Ice Sheffield, which also saw the GB U20s and GB U18s take to the ice.

Lynch was joined by assistant coaches Natalie Aldridge, Simon Leach and Robert Wilkinson as the new-look coaching team took to the ice for the first time.

“I thought it went well,” said Lynch. “There were lots of positives.

“The players were a bit rusty and fitness levels were a bit low with it being the off-season, but it was worthwhile to get an early look at everyone.

“We’ll spend a few days reflecting before starting to plan for the next camp.

“By that time, the players will be a lot sharper and will step up the intensity.”
