PINK THE RINK IN NOTTINGHAM ON SUNDAY

Our fantastic sponsors SMP Europe are asking supporters to Pink The Rink on Sunday as part of their fundraising for Breast Cancer charities, as Great Britain play Denmark in an international game at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham.

Supporters are being encouraged to wear pink with pride and get behind the team for a spectacle of international ice hockey as SMP Europe continue to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer charities.

The new dazzling pink warm-up jerseys remain on sale online and these can be purchased by clicking here.

For those who wish to make some noise with their donation, SMP Europe have provided 5,000 thunder sticks, which will be on sale at all three of the remaining international games. These will be available for £2 a set or three sets for £5 and are also available online by clicking here.

SMP Europe Managing Director, Ross Toomey, said: “Huge thanks to Ice Hockey UK and the Great Britain programme for their help in supporting our fundraising campaign for Breast Cancer charities, in particular our vision to Pink The Rink at Sunday’s showcase in Nottingham.

“It’s going to be fantastic to see our logo in the ice – along with the advertising boards and screen use – that we hope will all come together to create an international ice hockey spectacle like no other seen in Nottingham before.

“We hope the jerseys are a huge hit, as well as the thunder sticks, which we hope will add to the already incredible atmosphere generated by Great Britain’s loyal fans.

“We’re excited for all the warm-up matches and even more so to join the support for the squad in Finland. As a company, we would like to thank fans for their continued support of our fundraising campaign.”

Ice Hockey UK General Secretary, Andy French, added: “It’s amazing what our sponsors are doing to raise money for charity and we are glad to be able to assist them in their superb fundraising.

“Also, their financial support has helped bring two top-quality hockey nations to the UK for four fantastic games of hockey. As ever, I would like to thank them for their backing.”

GB were beaten 3-1 by Italy last night in Milton Keynes and will next face Denmark in Coventry tomorrow, before Sunday’s Pink The Rink game against the Danes in Nottingham on Sunday.

The final international game in the UK ahead of the World Championship in Finland is on Tuesday as GB face Italy in Coventry.
