Forward Brett Perlini says scoring his first goal for Great Britain in yesterday’s win over Slovenia in Budapest was a very special moment.
The 27-year-old made his GB World Championship debut in the 3-1 victory, scoring the third goal and also getting an assist on Britain’s opening goal of the afternoon which was scored by Ben O’Connor.
Perlini said: “It was great to my first goal and I was glad to play a part in a good victory.
“The most important thing was that the team won but it was special to get on the scoresheet.
“We put in a very decent performance against one of the higher-ranking nations in the world.”
GB return to action tomorrow when they face Kazakhstan who beat hosts Hungary 3-0 yesterday.
“They will be a very quick team there is no doubt about that,” said Perlini.
“But we can take confidence from our win against Slovenia and build from there.”
Great Britain against Kazakhstan faces-off at 4pm tomorrow (3pm UK time).
