The IIHF have announced the proposed new dates for next year’s World Championship have been officially confirmed at the annual Congress this afternoon.

The tournament – being held in Latvia and Belarus – will be staged between 21st May and 6th June 2021.

Great Britain are in Group A in Minsk alongside hosts Belarus, as well as the Czech Republic, Denmark, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland.

Matches will take place at the 15,086-seater Minsk Arena, which will also host two quarter-final games, both semi-finals and the the medal games.

The IIHF Congress is normally held in one of the host cities of the World Championship, but is being held virtually because of the coronavirus pandemic.
