Euan King as been confirmed as Great Britain’s goaltending coach.

The 31-year-old, who works with NIHL side Peterborough Phantoms, represented GB as a junior.

He spent much of his domestic playing career with his home-town club Peterborough, but also iced for Basingstoke, Romford, Chelmsford, London and Streatham.

King linked up with the national team last February and was part of the GB coaching staff for the Olympic Qualifiers in Nottingham.

GB head coach, Pete Russell, said: “It is fantastic to have Euan as our goalie coach going forward.

“I have known Euan a long time and he is perfect for the programme and our netminders enjoy working with him.

“We have a great group of coaches on the national programme and Euan’s expertise will be vital for us going forward.”

King said: “It was an honour to represent GB as a junior at a World Championship and being appointed to this role is just as special.

“Goaltending is a massive passion of mine and I am excited to work with the GB goalies in the programme.

“I would like to thank all those involved in giving me this opportunity and I’m excited to be part of the coaching staff.”
