Five of the Great Britain roster are celebrating playoff success this evening as Cardiff Devils beat Belfast Giants 6-3 in the Elite League’s showpiece final at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham.
Josh Batch, Ben Davies, Sam Duggan and Josh Waller were all part of the Cardiff line-up, as was Devils captain Mark Richardson who lifted the trophy in-front of the travelling supporters.
British forwards Scott Conway and Ben Lake both scored for the Giants, while Lewis Hook got an assist.
There’s little time for rest for the GB players involved in this weekend’s playoffs with the pre-World Championship training camp beginning in Coventry on Tuesday, which includes four international matches before heading to Finland.
After playing Italy in Milton Keynes on Thursday 5th May, GB will face Denmark in Coventry on Saturday 7th May and also in Nottingham on Sunday 8th May.
The final UK international game takes place against Italy in Coventry on Tuesday 10th May – the day before GB depart for Finland.
