Hungary beat Italy 6-1 in an international challenge game at the Skydome in Coventry.

It means Italy have now won one and lost one of their two games in the UK following Friday’s 5-2 victory over Great Britain.

The three-team tournament concludes tomorrow when GB host Hungary in Milton Keynes (2pm).

Hungary led 2-0 inside the first minute with Vilmos Gallo scoring after only nine seconds and Bence Sziranyi on target after 58 seconds.

Italy’s sole response came from Angelo Miceli at 12:14.

Hungary stretched their lead to 4-1 with goals from Janos Vaso at 32:46 and Gergo Nagy (powerplay) at 39:05.

Nagy scored his second at 46:39, again on the powerplay, before a brilliant finish from 55:05 Istvan Sofron (55:05) secured Hungry an emphatic victory.
