Great Britain Under-18 Women held a two-day camp in Nottingham this weekend, including a game against Guildford Lightning, as part of their preparations for the World Championship which gets under way later this month.

The nine-team Division II tournament takes place on the dual ice pad at the Zeytinburnu Ice Rink in Istanbul from 27th June to 5th July.

After on and off-ice sessions on Saturday, GB faced Guildford on Sunday to undertake vital match practice ahead of the tournament.

Louise Adams scored the only goal of the first period to give Guildford the lead at the intermission.

To ensure both GB netminders played half a game each, Mali Easton replaced Emma Nichols at the midway point of the second session.

Adams made it 2-0 to Guildford before Ellin Rees scored on the rebound on the powerplay to reduce the deficit to one.

Jess Jones scored GB’s equaliser with a perfect wrist shot after skating into the offensive zone down the right-wing.

Guildford’s winner in their 3-2 victory came five minutes into the third period through Katie Henry.

Thank you to everyone who came to the arena to support the girls and to all those watching on the live stream.

We’d like to once again thank the Nottingham Ice Hockey Club for their superb support by allowing us to use the equipment to enable the webcast.
