Ice Rink Managers Association statement
Today’s announcement by the Prime Minister has disappointed all our facility operators and the users of our facilities.
It has been announced that the reopening of ice rinks has been postponed from 1st August to 15th August at the earliest.
As an industry, we have been in contact with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) who have confirmed this to be the case.
DCMS have reviewed and approved the Return to Rinks document published in conjunction with partners from across the ice sport sector.
This outlines how rinks can safely operate with social distancing in place, in line with industry guidance and making ice venues covid-secure.
Further details on how this will change Return to Play guidance will be announced as soon as possible.
