Ice Hockey UK, the National Ice Centre (NIC) and Team GB are linking-up once again to offer the chance for anyone to play ice hockey for free.

Following the success of the inaugural I Am Team GB event in 2019, here’s your chance to learn about our amazing sport and get advice from two of the best players in the country.

It takes place on Sunday 15th August at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham and Great Britain players Katie Marsden and Robert Lachowicz will be on the ice to give you advice and tips.

Lachowicz has won 66 caps for his country and was part of the Great Britain squad at the World Championship in Latvia back in May, while 22-year-old Marsden has won 18 GB caps since making her debut back in 2016.

The on-ice taster sessions will be taking place between 2:30pm and 4:30pm and are free to anyone with a valid public skating ticket.

The NIC’s Ice Sports Operations Manager, Ryan Rathbone, said: “It’s fantastic to be able to work with Ice Hockey UK once again to provide opportunities for the local community to try ice hockey, inspiring the next generation of athletes for the Great Britain team.

“I’m looking forward to both Robert and Katie supporting future generations on the ice and helping to create a memorable experience for everyone involved.”

Inspired by Team GB’s success at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games this summer, the Festival of Sport is taking place across the country on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th August, with free and fun activities for all.

The full event in Nottingham is taking place from 1:30pm to 5:30pm with a range of activities taking place at the venue both on and off the ice,

As well as ice hockey, there will be chances to try table tennis, volleyball, skateboarding, roller skating, ball hockey and much more.
