Great Britain forward Lewis Hook scored the game-winning goal as Nottingham Panthers beat Sheffield Steelers 5-2 in the second game of Elite Series playoff final to take the series two-nil and win the tournament.

A fantastic dive to keep the puck in the zone by Owen Griffiths sent Austin Cangelosi clear to score his 10th goal of the tournament (2:44) to give Nottingham the early advantage.

Nick Dineen’s top-shelf blast from the left circle on the powerplay made it 2-0 at 29:10, before Robert Dowd reacted first to a rebound to cut the deficit in half (41:57).

Lewis Hook’s one-time shot after Robert Lachowicz won the face-off made it 3-1 to the Panthers at 49:53, but Sheffield hit back on the powerplay as Brendan Connolly forced the puck under Ben Bowns on the doorstep (55:17).

Kevin Domingue netted at 57:56 and Cangelosi made the game safe with an empty-net goal (59:20) and Panthers could celebrate being playoff champions.
