EIHA press release

Players taking part at this Friday’s JLMC ‘Arena Series’ in Nottingham will have the chance to play during the intervals of the GB v Poland match – and lift the EIHA’s own Stanley Cup.

Throughout the day at the National Ice Centre, players can complete an entry form and post into the box at the information desk if they want to play a small game in the first interval on Friday night’s GB game.

At the end of the day a draw will be made and successful players will be drated into two NHL teams – the Oilers and Sharks – to replicate one of the real-life NHL playoff rounds taking place.

The Oilers and Sharks will play a six-minute game during the first interval, with the winners receiving the Stanley Cup on the ice.

The runners-up will come back in the second interval for a special penalty shootout featuring presenters from BBC’s Blue Peter programme.

Good luck to everyone taking part in the Arena Series.
