Ice Hockey UK National Development Head Coach Tony Hand MBE says the recent Great Britain junior camps have been “invaluable for coaches and players” ahead of the upcoming international season.

GB Under-20s, Under-18s and Under-16s underwent a two-day identification camp at Dundee Ice Arena at the weekend, coming on the back of their camp in Ice Sheffield last month.

All three age-groups had two on-ice practices and an off-ice classroom session on Friday, followed by each squad being split into two sides for a mini game on Saturday.

Gary Brine, Head of the GB Goaltending Development Programme, was in attendance and provided specialist coaching for the netminders.

Hand said: “It was a fantastic two-day camp. It was very well organised, with everyone involved playing their part to make it a very productive camp.

“I know the coaches will have some difficult decisions as the players on show have improved since our June camp.

“Coming out of the pandemic, these camps have been invaluable for the coaches and players to be prepared for the coming season.”

Ice Hockey UK would like to thank Dundee Ice Arena helping make the camp a great success.
