Great Britain Under-18s Women’s coach Cheryl Smith says next week’s trip to Granada will be a great learning curve for her young side.

GB will take part in the Four Nations Women’s U18 International Tournament, which is being held in Igloo Granada Ice Arena.

Britain will face hosts Spain, along with Hungary and Poland, in the four-team competition from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th November 2017.

GB start the tournament against Hungary on Friday 10th November, followed by a match-up with Poland on Saturday 11th November and their final game is against Spain on Sunday 12th November.

The tournament is part of GB’s preparations for the World Championship Division 1 Group B in Poland in January.

Smith said: “We have a young side going out to Granada and they will take a lot out of the tournament.

“The standard of the opposition will be good and we can expect some tough games.

“With the World Championship around the corner, it will be important for players and coaches.

“We can work on game situations and get the players used to playing with something at stake.

“Some of the squad have been in the situation before but to others it will be quite new to them.

“We are looking forward to the trip and it is a massive part of our World Championship preparations.”
