Great Britain Women’s Olympic Qualifying campaign will now get under way in October 2021 because of the worldwide impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

GB were scheduled to begin their bid to qualify for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in February 2021, but this has now been put back eight months.

The tournament is still set to take place in Gangneung at the same venue that hosted ice hockey at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

As well as facing the hosts Korea, GB will come up against Slovenia and a qualifier from the pre-qualification round, which will now be held in August 2021.

It will be Great Britain Women’s second trip to Gangneung in four years after the World Championship Division II Group A was held there in 2017.
