Great Britain Women have won at least a bronze medal at the World Championship (Division 2A) in Bled.

GB beat DPR Korea 7-0 in their final game of the tournament to make it four wins from five matches.

If Korea fail to take three points against hosts Slovenia tonight (7pm UK time), then GB and Poland will be tied on 12 points at the top of the table.

GB would be promoted to Division 1B and win the gold medal, thanks to their earlier victory over Poland in the tournament.

A Korea regulation-win would move them onto 12 points with GB and Poland – and in that scenario, Poland would win gold, Korea silver and GB bronze.

This is based on a mini group with Poland advancing on the basis of goals scored.

Leanne Ganney scored a hat-trick and netminder Nicole Jackson secured a 27-shot shutout.

Ganney scored on the breakaway to give GB the lead at 7:36 and she tipped in her second at 14:34.

She completed her treble with a low finish past So Jong Sim for her fifth goal of the competition (30:50).

Saffron Allen took advantage of hesitant DPR Korea defending (39:56) to ensure GB had a four-goal second-period lead.

Katie Marsden scored her first senior World Championship goal at 43:05, CJ Ashton made it 6-0 at 45:58 from out in front and Louisa Durnell’s sweet finish made it seven (56:35).
