Great Britain Under-20s beat Korea Under-20s 8-1 in Tallinn in a warm-up game ahead of the World Championship Division II Group A, which gets under way at the weekend.

Kieran Brown scored a hat-trick while there were two goals for Richard Krogh in a fantastic performance.

Netminder Will Kerlin turned away 20 of the 21 shots he faced.

Harry Gulliver’s goal after only 35 seconds set the tone and GB led by three at the first break as Krogh scored twice.

In period two, Brown netted twice and Josh Waller was on target to help GB to a 6-1 lead.

Brown complete his treble in the final session and Jordan Buesa also scored to complete a convincing victory.

GB U20s head coach, Slava Koulikov, said: “I am very pleased with what I saw out there tonight.

“We must not get carried away as it is only one warm-up game, but I was very impressed with the boys.

“To score eight goals against a quality side like Korea show how dangerous we can be.

“This is a great springboard for our opening World Championship game at the weekend and we get another chance to work in a game situation tomorrow.”

Britain play their second and final warm-up game tomorrow as they face Spain U20s.

GB begin their World Championship tournament on Sunday against Lithuania and all five games are being shown on FreeSports.
